About the event

Looking to hone your weed management skills? This course provides instruction on core topics for your workplace. Participants will learn via hands-on, practical demonstrations of invasive plant control, how to effectively use control tools, and understand management techniques. Participants will gain an in depth understanding of identification methods, reporting methods, and management strategies for parks, roadsides, urban forestry, and habitat restoration projects. After completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify local invasive plant species and vectors of spread.

• Identify and demonstrate management methods for removal and disposal.

• Report infestations.

• Employ resources and steps to identify an unknown plant.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for on-the-ground maintenance crews and their supervisors; particularly valuable to those in trail maintenance, city landscaping, and grounds maintenance workers.


A basic understanding of grounds maintenance.

This course is an ideal prerequisite for the Pesticide applicators course.
