Invasive Species in BC

Invasive Plant Management Areas across the EK Region
Vision: To protect the EK from invasive species
The Kootenay region is world-renowned for its scenic beauty and biological diversity. Forest, shrub, grassland and wetland ecosystems provide habitat for a wide variety of plant and animal species. We're working to protect and mitigate our landscape from invasive species.
We are a non-profit organization that builds partnerships and supports collaborative projects in natural and applied science, policy research, outreach and education to protect our forests, fields, gardens, waterways and cities from the damaging effects of invasive species.
Field Operations + Contracting
We have an in-house field ops team, and we provide support, informational resources, knowledge, expertise, and advice to local and regional government staff and RDEK community members.

The East Kootenay Invasive Species Council has full respect for the land upon which we deliver our program. We respectfully acknowledge that we live, work and play on the ancestral, unceded territory of the Ktunaxa and Secwepemc peoples. We are grateful to be here to build healthy landscapes, habitats and communities through education and responsible practices to prevent the spread of invasive species to protect our native ecosystems, waterways and rich biodiversity.
