COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS.
EKISC’s invasive species programming thrives thanks to the generous support of our funding partners and the dedication of our collaborators. We are proud to work alongside First Nations, conservation organizations, local stakeholders, and community members on multi-jurisdictional projects that span regions and ecosystems, addressing invasive species challenges on a larger scale.

Our work includes multi-year invasive plant management projects that focus on strategic, long-term control and restoration efforts, ensuring sustainable outcomes for East Kootenay's diverse landscapes. Additionally, we lead community-driven initiatives like weed pulls, educational outreach, and citizen science projects, empowering individuals to take action and make a tangible impact in their local environments.

These partnerships and programs are vital in preventing the spread of invasive species and promoting the resilience of our natural habitats. Thank you to everyone who contributes to our mission and helps us protect East Kootenay’s incredible biodiversity for generations to come!

INVASIVE SPECIES ORGANIZATIONS
The Invasive Species Council of BC (ISCBC) is a provincial-scale, non-profit organization committed to reducing the spread and impacts of non-native species within BC. The ISCBC focuses on uniting efforts of the various partners working on invasive species management in BC, educating and informing British Columbians, coordinating and communicating research efforts, and offering training programs.
EKISC works collaboratively and cooperatively with ISCBC, on various provincial scale prevention programs including Clean Drain Dry, Plantwise, Don’t Let it Loose and Play Clean Go. We also participate in regular Joint Strategic calls with ISCBC and provide input on provincial scale initiatives like the Invasive Species Strategy for BC.
EKISC is one of 13 independent Regional Invasive Species Organizations (RISOs) working to stop the spread of invasive species throughout BC. We work closely and collaboratively with the other RISOs, sharing knowledge and expertise regarding on-the-ground invasive species management, working together on consistent messaging for education & outreach programs, and collaborating on program ideas, professional development and funding applications.
